How to Help Your Corner of the Planet
The Paris Climate Agreement did not work for the US president Donald Trump’s vision for his country. As a result he has started the leaving process which has left a lot of unanswered about America’s proposed actions for the environment. Even with this there is still much that needs to be done both at home and abroad. There are many small projects that everyone in the world can take up that could add up to a big positive difference. What you need to ask yourself is what you can do to your local area today.
Taking Care of Bees
It goes without arguing that bees play a big part in the ecosystem. They are the insects responsible for flowers pollination. It might not sound as good proposition to attract bees to your garden, but when you come to think of it, they rarely harm anyone. If you are feeling brave enough, you can take up the challenge of adding a few hives in your garden and even train to be a beekeeper. Even if you don’t have much space in your garden, you can always use potted plants that attract the bees.
Taking Care of Insects
Other insects are also important for the natural habitat too. Many insects provide a valued food source for the local birds and wildlife that might come to your garden. By keeping the garden area green, you can make the area for the insects’ conducive. Instead of paving it and making it a low-maintenance area, leave it to grow a little wild. The insects and birds love it, and your local community will greatly benefit from the beautiful birdsong it will attract. Having a lawn makes this achievable.
Take Care of the Hedges
The value of the hedges is always underrated. Hedges provide home to small insects, mammals, and bird, and some also provide fruits, nuts and berries for you to eat. The main reason why hedges are grown around your property is for the purpose of air purification.
Do some Cleaning
Leaving all work to the local authority leaves fewer chances to clean everything all the time. Obviously, you pay the taxes and do your part by using the litter bins but still you will find a lot of litter blown in the parks and streets. You can volunteer a few hours to clean up and give everyone the chance of enjoying a much better and more secure environment.
Take a Day Off
If you report to work in your car, find out if your boss is willing to give you a day of remote working from home. There are many ways in which you can give your car a day off and save a lot of cash. You can choose to car share with others, decide to walk or take public support to go shopping.
